This is a rare leadership opportunity at one of Milwaukee’s fastest growing not-for-profits. Our Director of Development coordinates all fundraising efforts to support Horizon Home Care & Hospice, Inc. and the Horizon Grief Resource Center.

An effective Director of Development will bring Horizon to the next level. This is your chance to make an indelible impact on the lives of many people during challenging times. The work you and your team perform ensures that homebound clients get a meal every day, Milwaukee’s working poor receive affordable health care, and grieving individuals find support at our one-of-a-kind Grief Resource Center. You’re joining a close-knit family of the best professionals in the not-for-profit industry who believe in what they do and always have each other’s backs.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

·         Manage our current donor portfolio while researching, identifying, attracting, and cultivating new major donors for our causes.

·         Plan and execute Horizon’s annual fundraising events, including obtaining corporate sponsorships.

·         Supervise Horizon’s Manager of Volunteer Services and assume accountability for the success of our volunteer programs.

·         Implement effective networking and media strategies to enhance Horizon’s visibility in the community. Educate appropriate contacts about the services Horizon provides.

·         Collaborate with the CEO to secure new business opportunities.

Horizon has been recognized by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel as one of their "Top 100 Work Places." To fit in at our Agency, one must be organized, eminently likable, and genuinely interested in helping others. In addition, our ideal Director of Development should be well-connected and wildly creative, with a work ethic second to none. He/she will need to embrace the daunting task of growing our programs and producing results. Rise to the challenge of establishing and nailing ambitious benchmark goals. But just because we work hard, doesn’t mean leave your sense of humor at the door!

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and 3-5 years of proven fundraising and event management experience. Must be computer proficient and a master communicator.

Please include salary requirements when applying.
