Horizon Home Care and Hospice is seeking an Intake Specialist to support the Intake team with administrative functions related to the coordination of the new patient referral process. This full-time position is based out of our corporate offices in Milwaukee, WI; but does periodically travel to our affiliated hospitals (Columbia St. Mary's Ozaukee County and Froedtert Hospital) to support Intake team members at those facilities. Enjoy a 1st shift schedule and weekend rotation that keeps most of your weekends free to enjoysummer activities.
Along with top notch clerical skills, we are looking for the right personality. This can be a scary time for patients and families. Conveying a caring bedside manner over the telephone is a gift. You must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment behind-the-scenes while outwardly demonstrating empathy and confidence.
We seek someone with exceptional communication and organization skills and an unflappable work ethic. We work hard and take our jobs seriously at Horizon, but that doesn't mean leave your sense of humor at home.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two-three years of medical office experience. Knowledge of medical terminology a must. Electronic Health Record experience preferred. Must be computer proficient (Word, Excel, Outlook), highly organized, and dedicated to providing outstanding customer service. EPIC, Cerner and/or McKesson knowledge a plus!
